Welcome! This is the inaugural posting for BizBlogNZ.
In this space, we'll be discussing issues and topics related to the growth of businesses in general, and New Zealand businesses in particular. There will be a particular emphasis on the "people" side of the equation - why you need to have a strong Board and a team of "A players", etc. We'll feature some commentary and discussion on things in the news, and offer the occasional rant, as is the tradition here in the blogosphere. Over time, we may well add a podcast or even a vidcast to spice things up a bit.

- Roger grew up in Washington, DC. After the usual misadventures, he graduated with a degree in Physics from American University. Began in training and OD consulting for Pratt & Whitney. Moved to Pepsi, as Manager of Sales and Operations Training for North America. After leaving Pepsi, started a training/OD consulting practice and was Adjunct Professor member teaching undergraduate and MBA courses at American U. Moved to Booz-Allen & Hamilton, where he led strategy, quality, HR Systems design, and other client engagements. Recruited as Vice President of HR for Management Recruiters International with worldwide HR responsibility for the $800 million revenue company. In 2000, he opened an executive search business which he ran for 6 years. Today, Roger is Associate Director of Kinross Recruitment in Auckland, New Zealand. Kinross is a boutique executive search firm that builds management teams and boards for high-growth businesses. He also teaches part time at the University of Auckland. He sometimes writes about himself in third person tense. He isn't sure why. Roger lives in Auckland with his wife and son. His hobbies include golf and tai chi.
